As usual Kiss&Fly was a hit! We showed up at 12 and it seemed slower than usual however that quickly changed. We set up two tables on the dance floor and within minutes the madness began. The women were very friendly and the music was unbelievable. It was mixed so brilliantly that I wanted to get the DJ’s names and info but we were so distracted by all the energy in that place that it just never happened. Since the DJ booth was doing everything right, it allowed us to perform just as well on the dance floor. I must say, Matt and I were Macs last night but Kiss & Fly gets ALL the credit. They figured everything out down to a T, even the little details. The dance floor was going nuts and just when you thought things were getting too hot, some sort of cold white fog came down from the ceiling, which instantly cooled you down and filled the dance floor to the point where you couldn’t see someone dancing 6 inches in front of you. It was B-A-N-A-N-A-S!! Even Lamar, the bathroom attendent, was the man, and had me tipping him way more than any guy that dispenses soap deserves. By the time we got into the cab, I was slouching against the door with my face smeared against the window and my entire body was on fire; I had danced hard for 3 straight hours. Let’s just say, it was worth it! Hopefully next time you’ll be there to join us…

The unfortunate absence
Posted in Uncategorized with tags China, Macbook, Macbook Pro on November 16, 2009 by thesocialaireWe apologize for the unnecessary absence the past couple of days. I broke my Macbook and had to send it to California to get replaced by a new one. The new one, being a Macbook Pro, had to be shipped from Shanghai, China straight from the factory. Yes, you read correctly and I didn’t understand why I couldn’t go pick one up at the store however it was a FREE new computer and they upgraded me from a Macbook to a Macbook Pro so I couldn’t argue too much. Now back to the good stuff!!
Does the Cold Bite of Winter Affect the Turnout at Clubs?
Posted in Uncategorized with tags autumn, Club, cold, hibernation, Kiss & Fly, Men, nightlife, NYC, weather, winter, Women on November 11, 2009 by kurshotThe leaves are falling and the hoodies are on. As much as we don’t want to admit it, we all know whats next. So the question I ask is, How does winter affect the nightlife? Honestly, I have no real data that points to any sort of conclusion but lets get serious here… everyone hates the winter! First off, winter is synonamous with hibernation and although we are not bears, we definitely don’t enjoy getting blasted by freezing cold air coming at us in a whirlwind. But can the cold weather stop people from their favorite activity? As a dude, I would choose sunny and warm over cloudy and sleeting any day of the week… and I get to wrap up in anything I want. Not so much, for women. Most women aren’t going to throw on their snow suit with attached snowshoes so they can hike to the clubs and then change, superman style, right before walking into a club. So, I believe, many females stay in. And that affects the male turnout since we all know why men go out (Hint: It’s not so they can shake their money maker!). I bet your saying to yourself, but Kurshot, what’s the catch. How’d I know you’d ask?! The catch is we live in NYC baby! And less people coming to the clubs actually benefits the REAL night-lifers. Most high-end venues have long lines with strict doormen that turn away a boat load of people every night. Take Kiss & Fly for example; if you took all the people who showed up with an interest in getting through that front door, before getting denied or seeing the long line, the line would wrap around the building… probably twice. So you know what I think, but I wanna know what you think? Leave us a comment and TELL US WHAT YOU THINK because although I can’t deny that we’re genius’ over here at The Socialaire, we don’t know everything and would love your input!
Disaster on the Green
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Halloween, Tavern on the Green on November 2, 2009 by thesocialaireAs many of you know, we hosted our Halloween bash at Tavern on the Green this past Saturday or should I say “planned on it.” Right when the doors opened to start allowing all of the ticketed guests in, there was an altercation between one of the security guards and 2 guests which involved the guests threatening the guard with a knife. With the guest s hesitant to leave a call was placed to the cops for everyone’s safety. Upon arrival the cops saw a couple thousand people outside banging on vans, chanting “Let us in” and they felt that shutting the party down with be the best bet due to the situation. We obviously did not plan for this to happen and are working out all the details now. I ended up going home so that I could deal with this huge problem now that a couple thousand people were very upset to say the least. We have meetings again today to get everything situated as far as the money is concerned seeing that we turned in a very large amount of money to Tavern before the event took place. Also this morning Tavern on the Green filed Chapter 11 which does not help. Sorry for the boring read but I did want to get this out there to keep everyone posted.
Any questions, feel free to contact me.

Fashion Show and Celebs Galore
Posted in Uncategorized with tags Akon, Brandon Jacobs, Def Jam, Fabolous, Fashion Show, Giants, Ja Rule, Jeezy, Knicks, Lebron James, Marquee, Mary J, Nikki Beach, Pink Elephant, Rihanna, Su Casa on September 28, 2009 by thesocialaireFirst I want to remind everyone about our fashion show this WEDNESDAY AT 8PM. I have picked up several designers to make the event be a success. We will follow the event with a sponsored after party at one of our venues. Here is the youtube clip from our last show.

9/21 Su Casa: So last Monday was the kick off to the new party Su Casa. It is a very unique space with a great crowd. It is aimed to be a big model crowd which I think is great due to the no cover and exclustivity of the venue. You would walk right by the door if you weren’t going to the party. It just has a door and a bouncer in a suit outside. I will be there again tonight, feel free to stop by.
9/22 Marquee: There was a big pre-party for the movie “Its more than a game” about LeBron’s rise to fame. I was inside for the party and there was celebs like Akon and Mary J in attendance. They also had waiters walking around with very good finger foods. Once the doors opened Nate Richardson from the Knicks came a bought a table. Lebron obviously made an appearance but it was brief. Tutan Reyes who used to play for the Giants was actually at our table. Donny from making the bad was outside however he never made it past the very hectic door. It was a very crazy night due to the very large crowd at the door. They ended up closing the door at 12:30 because there was too many people.
9/23 Marquee/Pink: Pink Elephant had a huge party for one of the executives from Def Jam. Jeezy, Rihanna, Fabolous, Brandon Jacobs, and many more were there. One of my friends works for the NFL and is good friends with Jacobs so I actually had the opportunity to meet him before the event at a bar called Volcano on 36th and 5th ave. Very nice guy even though im a cowboys fan. Ja Rule was at Marquee with an entourage of people. Not sure why he wasn’t at Pink.
9/24 Cain/M2: Cain was somewhat slow. I brought some friends from High School out and they seemed to have a great time anyway. It filled up a little later in the night however was not the usual party.
9/25 Hudson Terrace/M2: Hudson Terrace was very packed again. If you plan on attending I recommend getting there early because they shut down the doors for a little bit at 12:30 due to over capacity. They were also filming a documentary about NYC Nightlife there and my table happened to be in it for a little. We will see if it gets edited out haha. After I went over to M2 with a group of friends and Jay-Z showed up. I posted some pics so you can check those out.
9/26 M2: The usual Saturday party at M2. They had the place filled pretty well and it seemed like everyone had fun. Nothing out of the ordinary though.
9/27 Tenjune: Tenjune was packed last night. Good looking crowd, the music wasnt as good as usual and I ended up leaving early to catch some sleep for this big week. I might be jumping on 1Oak’s sunday party. Will keep you updated.
This Saturday is my birthday. I will be having a huge party at Hudson Terrace on Friday and another one at M2 on Saturday. My dad will be there Saturday so you will get to meet the man behind me haha. Come celebrate with me.
Weekly Linup:
Tonight: Su Casa
Tuesday: Marquee
Wednesday: Fashion Show at Nikki Beach/Marquee/Pink
Thursday: Cain/M2
Friday:Hudson Terrace/M2
Saturday: M2
Sunday: Tenjune/Possibly 1Oak
